Hello Springwater,
As you well know, we are in challenging and new territory as we all respond to the coronavirus and the Governor’s restrictions. We want to protect the most vulnerable among us and do what we can to minimize the spread of the virus.
Our Presbytery is recommending that we suspend our in-person gatherings for now. They encourage us to closely follow guidance from public health authorities, and maintain these practices of social distancing until the time when such restrictions are lifted.
Your Session and I have been processing and planning and here is how we are going to proceed for Springwater:
On Sunday, March 15 we suspended all our in-person gatherings until those restrictions are lifted.
Every Sunday, we will have an online time of scripture, prayer, music and meditation through our Facebook page at 10:30 am. There will also be worship resources emailed to you.
Press the big blue button at the bottom of this email for the link to our Facebook page.
We all know our need for one another does not stop though we’ve been asked to distance our in-person connection. Will you connect with one another in the coming days in the next best way you can? Phone call, emails, notes are all wonderful. And, if you have a need, or hear of a need during this time please contact Pastor Susan at 503-442-6175. Many of you have offered to help others out as best you can.
To that end, I understand there has been a wonderful outpouring of food from the community for our Backpack Buddies program during this time that the students are out of school. We will continue to keep contact with the food bank and let you all know if further donations are needed for them at this time.
Friends, here is our opportunity to love our community well by caring for everyone’s health. Let our prayer in this time echo the words of Philippians 4:6-7.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
