Labyrinth & Outdoor Worship Area
LABYRINTH
Since long before the Christian church, humans have used a walking form of prayer and meditation we now call the labyrinth. Unlike a maze, whose purpose is to confuse and get people lost, the purpose of the labyrinth is closer to that of "finding." There is only one way in to the center of the labyrinth, and if you keep walking in the same direction, you'll get there. There is only one way out of the labyrinth, namely by the same way as you went in. If you keep walking in the same direction, you'll get out.
Springwater's labyrinth is hidden among a circle of fir trees, surrounded by a quiet and seclusion. It is a wonderful way to ponder what is on your heart, to discern which way to (figuratively speaking) turn in your life. Our labyrinth is based on the Chartres pattern and is open to the public. Simply drive into our parking lot and follow the signs at the back, through the meditation and memorial gardens.
OUTDOOR AMPHITHEATER
At the back of our beautifully landscaped two acres, hidden in a natural "bowl" facing a concrete stage, is an outdoor amphitheater. The bowl is made up of a series of grassy terraces, perfect for lounging land picnicking, or for an evening of lively music or a summer late-night movie presentation.
The amphitheater is also available for rent as a wedding venue. Please contact us to learn rental fees and availability.
